Problems with Demons

Lady with genie spirit

In the Western world we think that a Genie is a big, blue character in a fantasy cartoon video. In many other parts of the world the genie spirits are greatly feared. People in Tanzania call them the spirits of the giants that were killed in the Great Flood. They appear up to 12 feet tall, especially at sunrise and sunset, especially near springs of water or lakes or oceans. People have been beaten up by them. This lady was possessed by a genie spirit. Look at the faces of the 3 people here and you'll understand this is no cartoon!

Requests for books

We get many thousands of requests for Christian leadership books. One of the books is "How to Defeat Demons" by Jim & Carolyn Murphy of Hundredfold Ministries International. The book speaks not only of the problem of demons, but also about a Christian's authority over them, in the name of Jesus Christ. Here Ndelilio, Joy and Anita are packing the car for a large mailing to church leaders. The small white letters are our "Prospect letters", for people who are asking. If you could look very carefully you'd read "Jinsi ya Kuwashinda Pepo" on the boxes. That means "How to Defeat Demons"!

Burning demonic charms

When people learn how demonic spirits gain access to a person, and how a believer can expel them in Jesus' name, they spread the news. Here we see an open-air meeting in a village setting. The fire is the burning of the charms and amulets and other "medicines" after hearing the good news of Jesus' salvation and protection. I remember a time when we had an event like this in Mwanza, Tanzania. Although the charms and 'stuff' were paper and wood and dried fibers, we had a very difficult time getting the fire to light. One of the converted 'witch doctors' asked, "Can you hear them (the demons) screaming?" I couldn't!

Lady after genie left

This is the same lady as in the first picture. We got these pictures in the mail as testimonies of how God is using the literature ministry to set people free. This is the "after" picture. After the pastor got our literature, after he read and understood it, after he acted on it, after the genie spirit was expelled in Jesus' name! Jesus came to set the captives free, not only from demons, but certainly from them as well. We're here to help make that come true for people's lives.
